Target Sprint is the fast-paced exhilarating sport which combines running and shooting. Athletes must run 400m, then shoot 5 targets at 10m using an air rifle, before running another 400m, shooting another 5 targets and then a 400m sprint to the finish! All athletes start at the same time and the first across the line is the winner. It therefore requires two very different skill sets, with athleticism and calm precision, plus the mental fortitude to change between the two disciplines.

Originating in the winter Biathlon, the sport is being actively promoted by the ISSF and already enjoys a strong International presence, which may ultimately see it becoming an Olympic sport.

Sedgemoor Target Sprint Club was established specifically to train athletes in this sport. Using the world-class facilities at Yate and the support of Internationally-recognised shooting coaches, it is the British Shooting centre-of-excellence for the sport in the UK. We offer support at all levels of ability, from the Elite athletes who have already competed on a World stage, to raw beginners wanting to give the sport a try with all equipment being provided.
